IDA (IMMERSIVE DIGITAL ADVENTURE)
Ida is the first piece of 360 degree film that Virgin Atlantic has created, working in collaboration with Microsoft.
A scalable immersive experience designed to be the perfect B2B corporate sales tool. Briefed to transform the sales kit for trade events and bring the innovative side of the brands personality to life. The digital experience is viewed through a VR headset and takes the customer through the Upper Class experience in a unique and personal journey, from Limo and dedicated check in, to clubhouse and onboard. An immersive experience of smells and a wrist band to measure heart rate and engagement. It bridges the physical and digital worlds together.
I was the lead designer on this project working closely with Microsoft to produce the film and it’s supporting assets. Ensuring the creative narrative ticked and delivered on all Virgin Atlantic key service moments and meeting all stakeholder requirements.
I was responsible for casting 30 on brand, Upper Class passengers, with some key roles to create consistency in the scenes and allow you to follow a passenger throughout the journey. Each character cast had a role and action supplied to them, along with a style guide I created to advise on wardrobe. I briefed each character and created a prop list that allowed the film to feel realistic. I supported Microsoft with the art direction of the filming, creating a well crafted, on brand experience.
Once the film had been generated and stitched I then steered graphic transitions, colours, sound, and brand accuracy, to ensure it met with the tone of the Upper Class experience.
I developed Ida into an ident along with a detailed set of user guidelines. Alongside the 360 experience I designed the event collateral which included branded headsets and backdrops, google cardboard giveaways and printed invites and experience collateral and user guides.
